I discovered a wonderful tutorial online for making your own bubbles (http://www.howdoesshe.com/making-bubbles). If your children are like mine, they have really struggled with making bubbles...but love them! At age 8 my son still struggles with the plastic bubble wand and gets rather frustrated. We followed the tutorial listed above and my kids (ages 8 & almost 5) spent over 30 minutes having a wonderful time. I wish I had thought of this myself - the short of it is you use plastic bottles, some old fabric or sock, rubber bands and dish soap. If you are worried about dish soap getting on hands and in mouths/eyes, I would suggest using tearless baby shampoo/wash. And remind your child to blow out or they might get some soap in their mouth. :-) For those of you with very small children, this is a wonderful way to completely capture your child's attention, use Mary Lou's upside-down pyramid and have a great afternoon. I hope you have as much fun as we did.
