Hi my 3 year old son has limited speech (about 5 words) he doesn't talk in sentences ..I am very concerned & scared he will be 4 in October. He did start speech therapy through school & I see some improvement he plays well with others . this past April he had a seizure that lasted 30 minutes in three days it will finally be time for him to have a sleep deprived EEG..

Hi Angie90,

I am wondering if your son is receiving therapy this summer. You mentioned school. Does your son receive services from your state's Early Intervention program (for children before the 3rd birthday)? It would be great for you to work together with an SLP on a variety of methods you can use throughout each day with your son to try to boost his word use.

Do you feel he understands you well, based on what you say and not based on the clues in various situations?
